Huber Ranch's "Executive Blend" Bluegrass Sod contains 5 elite bluegrasses, chosen for their individual strengths, tolerances, dark color and adaptability to the conditions on the jobsite. The reasoning behind the blend is the "survival of the fittest." We have over 700 acres of very uniform, black, sandy loam soil devoted to this blend. This mineral soil is the very best for all types of installations because water and fertilizer move rapidly through the sod layer to the root zone. This allows the most rapid establishment, with minimal time and water required.

The area set aside for bentgrass sod production has a very uniform soil type that contains up to 92% sand. The permeability is great, in that the soil will handle up to 8.0" of water per hour.
Penncross™ creeping bentgrass is known for its rapid growth which enables it to survive in most stress and disease situations. We deliver this product at 1/4" to 3/8" mowing height. With lowering the mowing height gradually, and 2 top-dressings, you are able to put your green into play quite rapidly.
L-93™ creeping bentgrass is known for adaptability, disease resistance, and lower mower height tolerance. L-93's appearance is dark green with a fine leaf texture.

We offer soil-free sod which allows both bluegrass and bentgrass sod to be delivered "bare-root."
Some of the benefits of using washed sod include:
- No soil interfacing allows for deeper root development and better drainage.
- Amazing rate of rooting.
- Will quickly establish into any soil type.
- Lower weight allows for shipping up to 50% more per load(installation is quicker and easier, too!)
Soil is removed using a patented process from StrathAyr. "Soil-Free" sod is an effective and efficient alternative wherever quick turnaround time between repair and return to service is paramount. It is great for long-term sod health as well.

16" x 81"(1 sq. yd.) palletless sod can be delivered without pallets and handled with specially designed forks. Sod may also be placed on your pallets at the time of delivery. This will alleviate the added costs of handling, storing, and returning our pallets.
Big Roll is sod that is harvested wider and longer than traditionally harvested sod. Dimensions are 42" wide and up to 129' long. Applications include: athletic fields, golf course fairways, and roadsides, just to name a few. Be inventive, Big Roll can be used almost anywhere. Big Roll can be laid with either a walk-behind unit or using a tool that hooks up to a 3-point hitch. Call us if you have any projects that might benefit from the use of Big Roll.

Erosion Control Products
AMERICAN EXCELSIOR CURLEX BLANKETS - Erosion control blankets for use over seedings on slopes. Blankets are held in place using 6"x1"x6" steel staples. Staple guns are also available.
HYDROMULCH - Mat Fiber hydromulch (previously under the Weyerhaeuser name of Silva-Fiber) comes in four types: Virgin wood fiber, wood fiber plus tackifier, 50% wood fiber/50% recycled paper, and 50% wood/50% paper plus tackifier.
TACKIFIER ADDITIVE - Land Tack can be added to standard hydromulch to improve stability on steep slopes.

DUPONT® TURF BLANKETS - Used to extend the growing season for new seedings and to protect plants from frost damage and winter dessication. Available in many sizes.

DEWITT WEED BARRIER AND FILTER FABRICS - Available in different thicknesses and widths. Mainly used as a weed barrier around plantings. Filter fabric is used to prevent finer soils from moving into coarser soils while allowing water to pass. Also good for retaining wall construction.

LANDSCAPE STONE PRODUCTS - Huber Ranch handles a variety of decorative stone products which are available in bulk or in 1/2 cu. ft. "HubeRock" bags.
SHREDDED HARDWOOD BARK - Single and double shredded grades of hardwood bark are available in truckload quantities. Shredded Cypress and Cedar bark mulch also available.
